Relax, it’s time to go to work

Work pressure is one of the main causes of stress. But at these Lisbon coworks, there’s more to a days work than, well, work. There’s also yoga and physical exercise for your breaks.

Corrente

In an old warehouse in Arroios, the most multicultural of Lisbon’s neighbourhoods, Corrente was born, a collaborative and multidisciplinary space welcoming artists, brands, community events, independent projects and craftspeople. Corrente includes an area for artists’ studios and coworking spaces. There are spots for one (€190/month), for two (€300/month), and there’s also the option to sign up on a part-time basis (€95). Access is free, bearing in mind the coworkers have the keys. Besides the varied weekly schedule, enjoy regular activities such as yoga or dance and movement classes.

Ninho

Just a stone's throw from Torel garden, you'll find a sky-blue 19th-century palace that is a self-styled “oasis in the heart of town”. An exclusive members oasis, who pay a monthly fee of €50 to access the space. On the ground floor of Ninho (“Nest”) are the coworking rooms. In addition to these workspaces, members have access to the garden, swimming pool, bar and restaurant. The demand was so great that all the available spots disappeared in a flash - there’s now a waiting list for new members. To foster networking among members, Ninho hosts activities such as yoga sessions and DJ sets at the end of the day. When hunger strikes, enjoy a menu masterminded by chef Hugo Dias de Castro.

Selina Secret Garden

The Selina Group has already added seven spaces to its collection across the country. In Lisbon, the Selina Secret Garden is a gathering place thanks to its rooftop bar with views over the city, open to non-guests. But the hotel also has another identity: a coworking space. Selina CoWork has a work area with communal tables, a brainstorming lounge and a kitchen with free tea, coffee and fruit. There are three available working arrangements: a daily hot desk (from €12), a monthly table (from €189) and a meeting room (from €15). The schedule is always packed with yoga classes, DJ sets and workshops. Members have access to the pool and outdoor cinema.

Second Home

The coworking space that came all the way from London to Lisbon feels like you’re working in a botanical garden with computers. This creative industry incubator set up shop on the ground floor of Time Out Market in Cais do Sodré, and besides the working space offered to companies (from €365 per desk), Second Home offers a programme of events, such as conferences and even yoga classes. How about catching some waves after all those meetings? At Second Home, where there is a weekly surfing club, you don’t lack for company. Nor even a ride, probably.
